PSEO

Yes, you will still need to register for 16 credits worth of classes at Shakopee High School each year. When you show your school counselor an official PSEO schedule, they will remove your high school classes from your schedule. 

Yes! PSEO students are still our students, so they will be given a Macbook to use. 

PSEO students are still required to fulfill all Shakopee High School graduation requirements. Students can meet with their school counselor to discuss which credits they still need and if the PSEO courses they've chosen will fulfill those credit needs. 

There should be no cost to the student for PSEO. Textbooks will be provided by the college free of charge. 

PSEO, dual enrollment, and CIS courses all allow students to earn both college and high school credits. The main difference is how the student enrolls, where they attend class, and who teaches the course.

PSEO is when a student enrolls in and attends a college campus (physically or virtually). PSEO courses are taught by college professors. To take PSEO courses, a student must apply and be accepted at the college as a PSEO student. 

Dual enrollment courses are classes offered at Shakopee High School, taught by Shakopee teachers. To enroll in a dual enrollment course, students just register for the class through the typical high school registration process. 

CIS or College in the Schools courses are University of Minnesota-Twin Cities' classes offered at Shakopee High School, taught by licensed Shakopee teachers.
